Driving Program Coordinator
"My focus is not on showing you how to pass the the driving test but on working together to gain your drivers licence and develop safe driving skills for you for life".
"Since I can remember I wanted to be able to have the freedom to drive. Having your own drivers licence opens your world to endless possibilities and adventures. It gives you access to better education and greater employment opportunities.
It's that freedom and independence that only having your drivers licence brings. Its the next step into your life's long journey.
Of course with having your drivers licence comes responsibility. The year that I gained my licence the roads fatality rate for NSW was 1,268! After seeing the results of a crash I realised that I could improve my safe driving skills. Over time it became a passion to help other people gain their drivers licence and learn how to drive using low risk driving techniques. That's why the company is called Get Licenced Driver Training and not driving school.
An opportunity came my way to become an accredited RMS driving instructor in 2008. Since then I have assisted people to gain their drivers licence from the Victorian border to the South Australian border to the Queensland border. I have worked in small remote communities like Toomelah and Wilcannia to medium size communities like Orange and Albury to the city areas Campbelltown, Liverpool and Mt Druitt.
In 2014 the team that I was a part of received a Premiers Award. Strengthening the Environment and Communities, Western NSW Aboriginal Learner Driver Programs and Licenced and On the Road.
These experiences from working in such a wide variety of areas and conditions have helped me gain a unique insight and understanding of learning to drive. It has also given me further passion to expand my knowledge of what constitutes safe driving and safe driving techniques. Becoming a Platinum level Keys2drive instructor and a Coach and Facilitator of the Safer Driver Course has been a part of that.
